What’s at Our Doorstep? Charming Montgomery

Posted by Twin Lakes on October 3, 2017

montgomery.jpgTree-lined streets, brick sidewalks and friendly faces is what you’ll find on a walk through quaint Montgomery.

The community prides itself on its charming “Americana” feel and well-preserved historic buildings. Founded in 1795, Montgomery was known for generations as a stopping point along the old “3-C” Highway that led to Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland.

Quaint, Walkable Montgomery

The treasured Montgomery Heritage District, located in and around the main street, Montgomery Road, is a diverse and unique destination for shopping, dining and entertainment with storefront shops, nationally-recognized restaurants, galleries and performance venues.

At Twin Lakes senior living community, charming downtown Montgomery is just outside our doorstep. It’s one of the many attractive features for moving to our apartment or villa homes. If you’re looking for more fun things to do in Cincinnati, check out this guide on things to do in Cincinnati.

Events, Festivals and Fun

Along with shopping and dining, the community hosts many annual family events, such as the annual 4th of July parade and festival, the much anticipated tree lighting in December and exciting “swim-in” movies at the pool during the summer. Check out Montgomery Events to see a lineup of fun festivals and special events!

Music and the Performing Arts

If you love music, a must-do is a concert by the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. Founded in 1987, BAMSO is the only professional orchestra in greater Cincinnati offering a complete season of concerts free to the general public.

The orchestra is partially funded by the cities of Blue Ash and Montgomery and members of the orchestra are professional local musicians who are members of or perform regularly, with groups such as the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops, the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, and the Broadway Series at the Aronoff.

International Connections

The City of  Montgomery has also cultivated an international relationship with its Sister City, Neuilly-Plaisance, France. Residents at Twin Lakes Senior Living Community are actively involved with visiting abroad as well as hosting Sister City visitors. They also represent the group in city wide festivals and activities.

Montgomery is a charming community that celebrates a unique heritage while embracing a vibrant future, and it is no surprise that the city has been repeatedly ranked among the best places to live in Ohio.

Twin Lakes is a continuing care retirement community with villa homes, apartments and more, focused on delivering exceptional, everyday experiences to all its senior residents.
