Diners will be able to enjoy Japanese and Mexican cuisine on The Avenue in College Hill this spring with the arrival of two new restaurants, Kiki’s and Tortilleria Garcia.
These eateries will add to the fast growing Entertainment District that offers unique food and fun to Twin Towers Residents and visitors from all over Cincinnati.
Two New Restaurants in College Hill
1. Kiki Japanese Restaurant
Hideki Harada, the former owner-chef of Kaze in Over-the-Rhine, and his wife Yuko, will open a new restaurant in late spring, called Kiki.
This chef duo, who met in culinary school in Japan, will create shareable, casual food that is made from scratch and features dishes such as Japanese fried chicken, ramen, gyoza, and Yuko’s curry doughnuts.
They will offer a standing menu as well as a seasonal one including salads and vegetarian dishes. Kiki will be located in the former National City Bank building located at 5932 Hamilton Avenue.
2. Tortilleria Garcia Mexican Restaurant
College Hill resident Omar Garcia, will open his second Tortilleria Garcia restaurant, the first being located on Springdale Pike in Cincinnati.
Tortilleria Garcia features authentic, handmade mexican favorites including tamales, burritos, salsas, and corn tortillas made in a tortilla machine within the restaurant so customers can watch the process.
Tortilleria Garcia will be located at 5917 Hamilton Avenue which is locally referred to as ‘the Doll House Building’.
