The West Side of Cincinnati is often described as part small town, part inner city with strong family ties and hometown passion.Interestingly, when Twin Towers residents and staff were asked to name their favorite Cincinnati-area restaurants, these same traits surfaced. The top 4 eateries selected have strong community ties, most are family run, and lucky for us, none are very far from our community here at Twin Towers in College Hill.
We hope you enjoy our favorite places to eat too!
4 Favorite Restaurants on the West Side of Cincinnati
1. Biagio’s Bistro
Made from scratch pasta, soups, desserts and more. Buonissimo! The popular Italian restaurant is located in the heart of the Clifton Gaslight District at 308 Ludlow Avenue. It has been a local favorite since opening in 1999.
Biagio, who grew up in Centola, Italy, started working with his uncle as a young boy making cappuccinos and espressos and has worked in the hospitality and restaurant industry ever since. He has worked in Switzerland, Paris and the Caribbean prior to moving to America in 1989.
2. Ruth’s Cafe
Located inside the American Can Building at 1550 Blue Rock St., Ruth’s Cafe has been described as funky, eclectic, warm and inviting. It has great food and an even better backstory. It involves a woman, “Ruth,” who bequeathed the seed money to start the cafe, a dishwasher from 27 years ago who reconnected with old friends to become the chef and lots more!

3. Krimmer’s Italianette Pizza
Our residents, friends and family can’t get enough of this Italian pizzeria at 1704 West Galbraith in North College Hill.
The smells and flavor pull you in, leaving you later with a comfortably full belly and desire for more. The dough is baked daily; topped off with homemade sauces. This casual, family-friendly restaurant has been a Krimmer family tradition for 25 years.
4. Kreimer’s Bier Haus
Kreimer's Bier Haus is a cozy eatery with authentic German food and original brews. Located at 6052 State Route 128, Cleves.
Whether you prefer mettwurst over kraut, schnitzel or bier haus burgers, enjoy your meal with the beautiful Great Miami River as your backdrop. This family-owned restaurant is known for hand-cutting their own beef and has been a westside landmark since opening more than 20 years ago.
